Manchester United target Gareth Bale has confirmed that he does not intend to leave Real Madrid – despite the intense speculation – in this January transfer window or in the summer.
The world record signing has been subjected to intense transfer rumours over the last few months. After having cost £ 85 million, many expected Bale to have an even greater impact than Ronaldo. This has not been the case as the Portuguese superstar has been able to go from strength to strength. After an impressive first season at Madrid where he contributed immensely for the Champions League and the Copa del Rey success, Bale has been finding it difficult to live up to the expectations.
This has increased rumours about a return to English football with United one a few clubs who could afford the massive transfer fee and wages and still comply with the FFP regulations. Bale, though, has rejected those transfer rumours indirectly be suggesting that he is more than happy to stay at Madrid. This season, he has scored 14 goals in 21 appearances which is significantly lower than the impressive Ronaldo, who has 34 goals in just 24 matches. Only recently, he was criticised by Madrid’s own supporters for shooting rather than assisting Ronaldo, who clearly seems to be the fan favourite.
“For me, no. I’ve done an interview recently crushing the rumours that I’m not happy here. I’ve got four and a half more years to go on the contract.I feel like I’m doing well on the pitch, I score goals, give assists, play each game in my way, it’s how I like it.Yeah, I feel happy, I feel the love from the crowd. I want to show them what I can do on the football pitch and win as many trophies as I can,” said Bale.
