ALLEN: WE CAN COPE WITHOUT BALE

Welsh star Joe Allen has said that the national team can cope without star forward Gareth Bale as they play a crucial World Cup qualifier against Serbia on Sunday.

The Real Madrid star would miss the game as he is on suspension.

Serbia demolished Wales 6-1 in 2012 with Allen describing that night as his “worst night in a Welsh shirt.” He adds that he believes the memories of that day would help the team mentally as they face the Serbs.

Wales are four points behind them in Group D. Republic of Ireland are ahead of them as well so a victory is needed for their World Cup hopes to remain intact. After their strong display at Euro 2016 the team slumped into poor form which they are trying hard to make up for. Bale’s second yellow card in March against Rep of Ireland means they would not have their playmaker. Continue reading

GARETH BALE MAKES CONTACT WITH MOURINHO

Gareth Bale has reportedly reached out to Manchester United manager Jose Mourinhoover the English club’s long time interest in him.

The Welsh star moved to Spanish giant Real Madrid in a £86million record transfer deal from Tottenham Hotspur in 2013.

Bale was signed by the club chief Florentino Perez. However Spanish source DiarioGol claims that he is now ready to plan his exit from the side as he has continually lived in the shadows of Portuguese star Cristiano Ronaldo at the Santiago Bernabeu.

Manchester United have always wanted the player at the club. They were hugely interested when Bale was ready to exit Spurs but he opted to leave England altogether. Mourinho is hunting for a game changer as United struggle to reach expected heights this term.

Another source Don Balon claims that Mourinho wants Bale on his shortlist and he would be delighted to sign another top star.

There are reports in Spain that Bale wants the spotlight now so he is putting pressure on the management to make him the number one player or lose him to Man United. Continue reading

BALE SET TO RETURN TO TRAINING THIS WEEK

The football community is delighted that former most expensive player Gareth Bale is set to return to training this week.

It has been tough for the community after Ryan Mason was operated on after he fractured his skull whilst in action for Hull City against Chelsea this past week.

The Real Madrid player who is just coming out of his own suffering took to his Twitter handle to support Mason.

“Get well soon Mase!! Thoughts are with you and your family, stay strong!!! @RyanMason,” he tweeted.

The Welsh player is not expected to return to competitive football anytime soon but he would train with his teammates this week, reports say.

The player picked up an ankle injury that has almost killed the season for him after he struggled with top form at the start of the season. BALE SUPPORTS THE SPORT REMEMBERS CAMPAIGN

Wales football superstar Gareth Bale supports the Royal British Legion’s sport Remembers campaign in a bid to commemorate sportsmen who serve the country.

The Real Madrid forward joined Wales national team boss Chris Coleman and Wales senior team captain Ashley Williams on the 100th anniversary of the Battle of the Somme. The trio were pictured holding a picture of Leigh Roose – a former Wales shot stopper.

Roose was instrumental in the change of football laws before he lost his life whilst in active service in World War One. Roose had a lot of influence and he joined the 9th Royal Fusiliers in the summer of 1916 aged 38. He was serving at the Battle of Somme where he died on October 7, 1916.

The late goalkeeper, of Wrexham nativity, is one of the first celebrity footballers. He had a habit of bouncing the ball with his hands up as far as the halfway line. It used to infuriate the Football Association. The laws were changed because of him in 1912, making it legitimate for goalkeepers. Continue reading

GARETH BALE TO INSPIRE MADRID IN ABSENCE OF RONALDO

Welshman Gareth Bale is set to inspire Real Madrid to their first La Liga win in eight years in the absence of teammate Cristiano Ronaldo who is out injured.

Bale only lost his title of ‘most expensive player’ in the world this summer when Manchester United splashed the cash to resign the 23-year old Frenchman. The Wales international has been proving himself worthy of the tag of the successor of three-time Ballon d’Or winner Cristiano Ronaldo.

The 27-year old led Wales to European glory when they broke their record of over 58 years at the Euro 2016 in France when they reached the semi finals. Sportsmail reported that the Santiago Bernabeu management is set to offer the player a ‘contract for life,’ in lieu of the plans they had for him. It shows the management wants him to be the next big thing after the 31-year old Ronaldo retires.

Harry Redknapp believes that Manchester United can become title challengers once again

Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp believes that Manchester United can become title challengers once again if they bring in Gareth Bale back to the Premier league.

The former Tottenham star is currently with Real Madrid, but it appears that speculation about a return to the English league will never go away. This is largely because Cristiano Ronaldo has continued to dominate the headlines even though Bale is being played in a much more forward role. Bale missed out on being nominated for the FIFA Ballon d’Or award shortlist whereas Ronaldo was for yet another year.

Even then, Redknapp believes that Bale is a supremely talented player who can turn around the fortunes of United. The Red Devils have been struggling to come anywhere near winning the title since the days of Sir Alex Ferguson came to an end. In fact, the club are struggling to even finish in the top four. It has been reported that United have been very keen on bringing Bale even before the winger went to Real Madrid. David Moyes has confirmed that this was indeed the case. The former United manager was involved in a number of failed attempts to get star names. Continue reading

Angel Di Maria reckons Argentina needs a tall man in the attacking line

Angel Di Maria reckons Argentina needs a tall man in the attacking line in order to be more aggressive and win the games by much bigger margins.

There has been a bit of criticism of late that the Argentineans are not able to dictate terms even when they come up against weaker oppositions.

In the currently going Copa America competition in Chile, Argentina took on Paraguay to start their campaign and could only manage a draw.

And, then, versus Jamaica, they won by a slender margin of one goal.

In both those games, they were expected to be more dominant as they have some big names on the paper.

But, according to Di Maria, when the minnow teams face Argentina, they tend to be back most of the times and that makes it difficult for La Albiceleste to score too many no. of goals. If there had been the presence of a tall attacker, playing in the air would have been possible and that would probably have yielded better results. Continue reading

Gareth Bale’s injury will keep him out of the playing grounds for up to 3 weeks

On April 18, Real Madrid secured their 25th La Liga victory of this season with a final scoreboard of 3-1 but this victory came at a hefty cost for the team of Carlo Ancelotti as Gareth Bale had to be removed from the pitch at the 5th minute as he was replaced by Javier Hernandez at the early stages of the game.

The medical staff of Real Madrid is now reporting that Bale might have to stay on the sidelines of the team for up to 3 weeks and this will be leaving the Welshman unable to play in the upcoming crucial matches of Real Madrid as they have to play against: Athletic Madrid, Celta de Vigo, Almeria, Sevilla and Valencia in the next 3 weeks.

Karim Benzema, Luka Modric and Gareth Bale are the regular starters of Ancelotti which have been picking up injuries recently and the Italian coach will have to find a solution to this recent injury wave that has been affecting some of his key figures.

Gareth Bale underwent a series of physical tests and scans in order to find out the length and condition of his injury and Real Madrid released a statement which read:  “Following tests carried out on Gareth Bale at the Sanitas La Moraleja Hospital by the Real Madrid Medical Services, he has been diagnosed with a muscle injury in his left soleus. His progress will be monitored.” Continue reading
